I was born in South Florida and started fishing at the age of 10 and since then this has been my life passion.  Naturally growing up around the ocean in South Florida and The Keys I was exposed to many types of fishing including freshwater, backcountry and offshore for more pelagic species.  In 1989 I was able to turn my passion into a job and started working on a Miami based charter boat.  From 1989 to 1996 my jobs took me from South Florida to the Bahamas and Virgin Islands fishing exclusively for billfish tagging as many as possible.

In 1997 I was fortunate enough to get hired on The French Look mothership operation traveling the world until 2001 after the sale of the vessel luck struck twice and landed me on God’s Will & God’s Favor mothership operation until this boat sold in 2007.  Between these two operations I was able to fish as far away as Japan and Australia in the Pacific and Africa and Brazil in the Atlantic with countless stops inbetween.  During these years of fishing in remote locations it was astonishing to see the amount of commercial fishing going on in the world.

In January of 2008 my work took a very different turn from pursuing billfish all over the world to becoming captain of the R/V Ocearch and a part of the largest tagging program for great white sharks.  These efforts took us to California, Massachusetts, Florida, Mexico, Costa Rica and South Africa tagging and tracking close to 100 great whites as well as numerous large tiger sharks and misc species of smaller sharks. After 5 years of heavy traveling I left this project and have returned to the private sportfishing industry where I am looking forward to being a part of a new tagging system.
